Updaaaate

Had a bunch of near misses the last few days and got on the wrong side of some vital pots :(. Made the stars 320 final table on Saturday, i finished 30th the week before, so it was another deep run in it.. this one slightly better but KOd in 9th for 2.2k, 25k for 1st and 10k+ top 4 sigh. I ran KK into QQ for a huge pot with two tables left but then lost AQ vs AJ for the chiplead a few orbits later :/, i went into the FT like 7/9 and early on ended up allin on 455hh with AKhh vs AA and faded, gg. Sunday sucked a lot, and didn't do much in the majors besides bubble the stars million, did have two deep runs however in the tilt 100cubed and the $75 40k gtd. Out in 30th in the 100cubed running AJ into AK bb vs button then got it in bad to KO, and out in 12th in the 40k, losing a 300k race.. nvm you need to win those races to win tournaments.

Last night i had stacks all over the place, and had 40k in the 50r on full tilt at 300/600 and didn't even cash lol. Few suckouts, races lost and spews and i was down to my last table; the $77 6max on stars just itm with around 40 left. I was playing insane agg lol and was like 4/18 on the last three tables, then proceeded to get sucked out on numerous times, nvm.. not gonna go into details as its boring as hell.

As iv been writing this i was kinda deep in both the big doubles on ftp, managed to bubble B to miss out on a double cash+maybe more fhnjgvb, but i did get 3rd in A for like 1.6k which is not bad! I think i played pretty flawless on the last three tables upto 3handed, but then i didn't play awful but not great. The two players were super weak espcially one to my right, and i could have picked much better spots against them and could have easily shipped it :(. Ah well still trying to learn from my mistakes. Its 8am on Weds morning and im fucked lol so im gonna get some sleep then have a big grind tonight, Wednesday is 100% my fav weekday to play.. best tournys besides Sat/Sun by a mile.

GUKPT Manchester

This report is likely the least evenful iv done, and pretty much the only interesting hand was my exit one. My starting table was tougher than usual for a GUKPT event with both Moorman and Johne147 on it. The first few levels were completely uneventful with no hands of note. The tables then broke and at the dinner break i had 9.2k with the level starting again at 150/300. On the 3rd hand back from the break i pick up QQ utg and make it 825, loose/bad station flats with stack 25k+, and it folds to the cutoff who shoves for around 4.5k, then the button shoves for 6k and folded round to me, i reluctantly shove, the guy with 4.5k has 66, the button has TT and the original flatter who covers us all also gets it in and has AA, sigh. Day Two is today and Matt made it through with around average stack, so hes got a chance.. TIIIIIIID imo!

Back to the online grind over the weekend...

<3 live poker

After going 0/12 or something stupid like that in GUKPT/decent live events i actually csshed in the 200 GUKPT Side Event! Day1 on Monday went smoothly overall and i felt i played pretty well overall, but a little spewy in a few spots, there was 171 runners and it was basically a minefield of amateurs with some decent and good players here and there. I ran AA into KK early which got me off to a great start and i grinded my way upto around 25-30k without too much trouble.

The table then broke and i got involved straight away at the new table, raising the first hand from utg+1 making it 1600 at 300/600/50 and getting it through, the following hand i picked up KK utg which was setup perfectly, made the same raise and the button shoved for around 10kish with A10 he faded and i was upto around 40k. This was as good as it got on day1 and i spewed off some of my stack not long after, not long as in just one hand lol. I was still stacking my chips and from the previous hand, and it was folded round to the button, a young-ish guy sat with around 14k who instantly made it 1800, i felt my blind would be seen as an easy target as i was busy stacking my chips still, i probably gave the guy far too much credit and set him in with 56cc, he tank called with AQ and i somehow didn't get there as the board ran out K453Q hfvnjyh.

My image was pretty bad so i tried to slow down a little but ended up getting into a 3bet/4bet contest with the only other good player at the table. Tts a hell of a lot tougher to 4bet light live too, and it was a relief when he instafolded to my 67cc 4bet jam lol :). I don't remember any interesting hands from day1 and just grinded until the end of the day finishing with around 32k.

I didn't have much sleep, and had to get some redbulls on the way with Matt who also made day two. There was 35 left and with 32k at 800/1600/100 i had a chance to finally cash! I came out playing pretty lag and got upto 45k without showdown, then i ran TT in the bb into the 10bb shove from the button who miraculously had picked up QQ. So i was down to 21k at 1k/2k/200, made a few shoves to maintain my stack, then jammed the button with A9 and the bb called with 44, and i got there.

Now theres around 23 left, with 15 paid i started to play even more lag and was building a stack with pretty much zero resistance. A few got KOd and we were down to two tables, and i made it 9k from middle pos at 2k/4k/300 with around 60k and James Browning shoved from the bb with JJ and i held for a 130k pot.. mbn etc.
So im now in pretty good shape, and 90% of the guys are playing so tight to make the money, i lag it up. On the exact bubble, the button opens to 13k, at 2k/4k/300 with around 50-60k back, his raise size felt weak so i jammed with 63off and he mucked within a second and i made it into the money with 140k. There was a lot of shortstacks about and it didn't take long to get to the final table.

I think i went into the ft around 4/9 but the blinds were huge so it was going to end up a bit of a crapshoot. I got into some tough spots early on, I made it 15,500 at 3k/6k/500 from utg and Peter Charalambous shoved for around 90k from the cutoff, now this is such a snap online, but iv played with Peter a few times and hes seemed a really solid live player from previous experience and although i think he knows im aggressive and don't think he would make a play on my utg raise here. I felt his range was super snug and folded. (he had AK but i really think he folds 99 in that spot so im still happy with the fold). Then not long after Martin Silke, who chopped the London Main Event last month and was big chip leader made it 16k at 3k/6k/500 utg+2, i look down a JJ on the button with around 145k, iv sat with him once or twice before but im not sure how capable he is and how light he will get it in pre here, anyway i opted to flat and just play the hand for value postflop as i don't know if i could profitably 3bet/call against him and both jamming and 3bet folding are awful.

After a bit of a staring contest the flop comes KQ2, check check, turn is a 5 and he leads for 15k, i call, the river comes another 5 and he leads again for 35k. Siiiiiiigh, i had around 100k back at this point his bet on the river looked like such a value bet, i really didn't think he would barrel in that spot without me beat and i reluctantly folded, he told me later he had 44 tgineobgijkbkm, he played it well i suppose. So im down to 100k and a capable player from utg+1 shoves for 40k at 4k/8k/500 and i get it in and his 33 holds vs my A9. So im down to around 60k and have to shove at least once an orbit just to stay alive, i never get called and a few players get KOd and i still have 70kish and the blinds have just gone up to 6k/12k/1k and i pick up 86o utg 6 handed and min-raise to look stronger and the button tank gets it in with A10 i flop a gutshot but miss and im out in 6th for £1750. Dissapointing obv and i always will be with anything other thsn 1st but if i got some chips together at the ft i could have really dominated and had a good chance at the 11k for first.

Iv been adjusting my live game massively over the last few events, i don't think i played badly in previous tournaments but i know for sure theres hands i played sub-optimally and im still making the transition from online. Hand ranges live are sooooooooooooo different, one of the biggest differences iv noticed is how tight the majority of players are, and iv seen the most ridiculous folds and hilarious plays over the last few months. One thing i am working on which i think is a lot more important live is table image, successfully building a good one, being aware how others view me and adjusting my play accordingly. Players basically fold far too much live so a solid image is what im aiming for, and showing hands here and there helps a lot with this as players tend to remember and will give you a lot more respect because of it imo. Also being friendly at the table i think can be really beneficial, i don't see why some players seem to set out to make enemies, players are far more likely to let you get away with murder if they see you as a friend, and are so unlikely to play back at you light later on.

This post has turned into an essay so im going to stop now lol. Im playing the Main Event in a few hours so ill do a report/update possibly later on or tommorrow.

Random hot Asian chick ;)

Wish me luck :)

3 Final Tables : ) ...... AGAIN!

Im on such a sick run at the moment on Friday night i made three final tables again!, pretty fucking crazy tbh. Its hard to describe how awesome the feeling is of winning a tournament, it never seems get old. The high im on now is what drives me to get through the tough times and what motivates me to keep going, because i know this feeling can be just around the corner at any time. Im not going to lie, in the 20r win for $6.2k ^^^ iv never ever ran so good deep in a tournament, i had two big suckouts then proceeded to win every race and shipped it with ease, its a nice change lol :D. Here is a disgusting suckout with two tables left,

I actually did get unlucky in two pots with 88 vs 44 and KK vs 33 but they were against short stacks and i won the important ones, which is running good i suppose, most luckbox win iv ever had lol. I also made the Big Double B final table losing a big race 5 handed for around $900 and later made the final table of the $23k gtd out in 4th for 2.3k, running A9 into AK and didn't get there. EDITTTT: last night (Saturday) i made yet ANOTHER final table; the 20k gtd on full tilt, out in 7th for $1.2k. Funny thing is i think that final table could well have been my best performance out of the recent ones, i felt i played pretty flawless. In the end i lost two 400k pots with A10 vs AQ and A9 vs KQ, ah well.

I think a big thing for me at the moment is to not relax and and take things for granted, this probably my sickest ever run within a short space of time iv ever had but i know things can easily change. Iv been going through my hand historys of recent deep runs and im trying to be super super critical and hard on myself and theres still a lot of spots where im making some minor mistakes and one or two bad ones, which im trying to eradicate. Theres a couple of times iv missed a value bet or two, or my 3bet and c/bet sizing could have been better and hands where a different line would have been optimal and its resulted in me losing pots and winning or losing more than i should in certain hands.

But i am really confident at the moment and making final tables all over the place. Literally just about to start the Sunday session, with some on ultimate bet too, still a chance for the triple crown. One time Sunday?!

lol this would have been so sick

I created an account on ultimate bet, i played a couple of tournys last night on there along with the regular ones. The first one i played was a 50r 15k gtd, seemed a pretty good shot at the triple crown, i get off to a great start and the standard was ridiculous.. so i check the lobby out about half way through the tourny and im sitting 1/40, ub software/lobby is a little weird and i only just notice the field was just 85 players fgyukonhgikoptnhkepoh so even if i win this it wouldn'nt count. I grind away over the next few hours as players gift their chips and im a little tilted because of the field but im sat 5/13 with 9 paid. Iv never owned a final table buble so hard bubble it was a complete joke and i pretty much tripled up with no showdown. With 10 left i ran AQ into a 7bb stacks A10 and held so i go into the final table 1/9... the table is so nittish i starting playing super super lag and im winning 70% of pots with no showdawn including this pretty sick flop shove with J high..

If he has a big hand here i risk looking like a complete idiot and down to 9/9 but i really felt he flats a huge amount of his range on that flop and it just felt like he was weak so i went with my read and he insta folded : D

Im completly destoying the final table thhen this series of hands come up... keep in mind the average is 60k,

So out in 4th for 1.5k, i ran pretty awful at the final table to say the least lol. Other than that i had several nothing mincashes but did run deep in a couple losing a chiplead race vs pokercinni in the 22.5k on full tilt with 13 left and losing a huge race in another with 30 left. Was planning to have a day off and pound the weekend hard but im going to put in a big session today too, going all out for the triple crown : )

Triple Crown FTW!!???

So last night i shipped the 50r on stars for 7k

SHIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Final tables are rolling in at the moment, things are a hell of a lot better than they were last week lol. The structure deep in this tourny was awesome and i was playing super lag on the last two tables and final table, ran 66 into AA blind v blind with 13 left and managed to come back, ran pretty well on the final table won a huge race 99 vs AA then 5 handed ran KK into A10 and AK and held to become a monster chip leader 3 handed with 1.7 million to 300k and 200k and it was over pretty quick, its a lot of fun to be running much better deep : ).

With this win on stars + the big double A win on full tilt, i need one win on another site within the next week to get a triple crown on pcoketfives which would be sickkkk. So im need to open an account on ub or party poker maybe and ship a tourny by around next weds so i have a little bit of time, the tourny has to be over $10k prizepool and over 100 players so hopefully ill get a few chances before the week ends.

One Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime

After a string of 10th-30th places over the last few weeks i had a pretty sick night last night making three final tables -

Feels good to outright ship a tourny, pretty much dominated the final table and made this sick call headsup to give me a 2-1 cl...

2nd for 2.3k lost a huge pot 3 handed with A7 vs 78 and he binked an 8 sigh, but fought back and ended up losing AQ vs 77 for 90% of the chips in play.

I probably should have done better here and made a mistake 4 handed with a monkey 4bet jam with 33 straight into AA, 2.4k not bad though.

A pretty sick night all in all with around $7.8k for the night : ) its a nice lift and hopefully i can continue from this and start shipping left, right and centre. Iv made some big improvements over the last few months, my late game especially is way better than it used to be. Hopefully this is the start of things to come.. im really tired so im gonna go bed now!

So sick : /

I don't know how i keep on coming back, but i do.. somehow. I may have been a little over the top in the previous post but i was really upset when i was doing it and it reflected on how brutal tournament poker can be and the dark side of it. Anyway when i woke up, i was still feeling shellshocked but i did have the urge to play again and Sundays are sooo tempting, so i did decide to put in a decent session.

I managed to sattelite in the scoop medium 1k main event, but it was very uneventful.. i hardly won a single pot then jammed on an A river with AJ into a set of of kings. I min-cashed the low scoop main event and had a few other semi deep runs and insignificant cashes but nothing great. I was left two tabling the 40k and the Mulligan on ftp, i lost a big flip just off the money in the 40k and had around 20bb in the mulligan near the bubble. I then won a huge pot with AA vs AQ vs TT, and i was suddenly 7/110, i actually thought this might be the one. I grinded and grinded not playing any huge pots and got all the way upto 350k sitting 3/18, i then went on run AJs into a shortstacks AQ, flopped a f/draw but faded, then lost AK vs 88 for 400k and busted in a 350k pot with 88 vs KQ :( out in 12th for a meaningless 2k. 53k for 1st woould have been nice... sigh

From 100 down to the last two tables iv never felt so in the zone and i don't think iv ever played better. Poker is so twisted lol, seem like such a broken record but yet another super deep run in a major only to come up short.

One day...

Never felt so down

The easiest part about writing a poker blog is writing about the "good times", your own success and wins and making yourself out as some sort of superstar. I often read other players blogs and something i see a lot is long gaps between posts and they only seem to blog when things are going great, i guess at times you could say the same about this blog. But this post is well and truly not about the good times.

Iv been playing poker for a living for around 2 years now and iv never felt as bad and twisted about the game as im currently feeling. This is an emotional rollercoaster, and right now, im thinking what the fuck have i done?? Iv dedicated my life to a stupid fucking card game. Can i really put myself through this for the rest of my life? When things aren't working out, i immediatly doubt myself, and that feeling is very strong right now. Im rambling but i don't care, its feels like a weight off my shoulders to write my thoughts down.

Its built up over the last month or so and its getting hard to take now, iv never ever felt so close to quitting. Its 4am on Sunday, i just busted my last tournament going from 1/11 to busting in 8th.. , and i feel absolutely fucked, im completely drained and exhausted yet i know im not going to be able to sleep. Feels like poker just fucks with you sometimes and teases you only to bring you crashing back down to reality.

I don't know what ill be doing now, its the scoop ME later but im not exactly feeling great and i may take a break, from mtt at least... ill see how i feel when i wake up.

Grind Grind Grind

Played a few sessions the last couple of nights, including a marathon 17 hour one on Monday/Tuesday. Didn't have any significant results but had lots of super deep runs and just didn't win the crucial big races and got really unlucky on more than one occasion for chip lead stacks with two tables left. But im not really complaining, im feeling really positive at the moment, for the first time in a while it feels like iv made some big steps in improving my game and i don't think iv ever played as well as i am at the moment.

I don't feel this is a time to relax though, and im not taking anything for granted im going to keep on playing, living and breathing poker. After coming so close to big wins recently im even more determined to come back stronger and im gonna do whatever it takes to get there.

The SCOOP on stars is coming up and ill try to play most of the medium and low level holdem events so that should be fun and hopefully ill be able to put a lot of volume in this month. And ill try to have regular updates on how the month is progressing.

GUKPT Main Event Day Two

Where do i start... arrived at the vic just as everyone was taking their seats, starting table was good, had a really good seat. One of the chip leaders was to my direct right, he opened two of the first 5 pots or so and i had already decided to 3bet him next time he raised, didn't have to wait long the following hand he makes it 3600 at 600/1200/100 on the cutoff, i didn't look and made it 13,600, and then i dunno what the hell happened im usually totally fine live but i could feel my heart suddenly beating really fast and i was getting hotter and hotter as he tanked, i was very relieved when he finally folded, must have been a few nerves early on or something because i was fine after that.

The table was super tight and i was playing pretty loose opening a lots of pots, picking some good spots to 3 bet and pretty much running over the table, then i pick up AK of clubs on the cutoff and made it 3200, the sb jams for like 20k i snap and he has A3 and i hold, off to a sick start and up to around 92k. I tighten up a little, and at 800/1600/100 i raise to 4200 on the hijack with AA, the bb Peter Peter Charalambous, raises half his stack, i put him in and im in great shape to win a 60k+ pot with AA vs TT, T3347 and im down to 55k but still in with a shot. I then pick up 99 in ep at 1k/2k/100 and make it 5100, Dave Colclough flats from the sb playing a 27k stack, and the bb folds, now Dave has been flatting raises oop a couple of times already with less than 20bb so i don't assume he has a huge hand even though he should in this spot, the flop comes K34 2 diamonds, Colclough checks and i bet 5k, he shoves and i call, he has KQ sigh and i don't spike a 9, down to 30kish.

I shove a few times and then the table is broken, and i get on the new table with 38k at 1200/2400/200. One of the first hands at the table i make it 6k utg with AQ, the button flats and the blinds fold, flop is 1093 and i lead out 6600 he raises i fold, down to 26k, i then shove the following hand, and then an orbit or so later Josh Gould who was to my left on the first table, who raise folds a lot makes it 7k, the button flats and i shove for 28kish with 88, both fold and im upto 46k. The next hand Josh raises again to 7k and i jam with A10, the sb then tanks for eternity then finally shoves with JJ, Josh folds and JJ holds and im out in around 60th.

So the trip to London has been a lot of fun, but poker has been really really disappointing. But i can't really take too much from it as its still a really small sample size of live tournaments iv played and another time things could have gone a lot different. Thats a big downside of live poker it could take years to put enough volume in for variance to even out a little. Anyway back home now, feels good to be back, currently playing some sunday donkaments so you neverrrr know!

Random hot asian chick to comiserate imo...

GUKPT Main Event Day1

Huge field of 398 runners with around £600k in the prizepool and £172k for 1st place! I was sooo tired when day one began, i only had around 3 hours sleep so i was in for a longgggggg day. Started off ok winning a few small pots and grinding up to 20k in the first two levels, things were pretty agonising after that and i grinded my ass off for most of the day to maintain a 15k stack. At 300/600 i had been super tight so elected to steal from early postion with 85off, the only short stack at the table shoved and i was priced in vs his AQ and didnt get there. So im down to 8k at 300/600 and things aren't looking to good but i pick some good spots to steal and resteal and grind up to around 13k. Micky Wernick shoves 9bb from middle position and i look down at AJss and i get it in and make a flush on the river to get to the heights of 22k ish.

My seat sucked Ben Vinson had been moved to my left and was playing super lag with Kellett and Kabbaj both to his left and a bunch of short stacks to my right i had little option than to just lock up and sit tight for a while. The last hand before the break at 400/800, i make it 2175 with KK, and get 4 callers which was pretty disgusting but i had little room to manouver and would be getting it in on most flops. Flop is Q23 two clubs, the blinds check and i lead out 7k, two folds and John Kabbaj tanks then flats from the sb and the bb folds. Turn is an offsuit 4, Kabbaj checks and i shove my last 14k, Kabbaj tanks again and reluctantly folds, later telling me he had a f/draw, so im up to 35k and have a playable stack.

I start to open up a little and got played back at pretty much every hand i raised, kinda frustrating. Kellett and I had been involved in a few pots and he had 3bet me a bunch and had been playing super fast and loose and showing bluffs etc, so the following hand was a perfect set up, the final level of the day at 500/1000 both sitting at around 30k, i make it 2700 with AQss and he instantly 3bets to 8k, i jam and he has AK sigh. The flop brings no hope, and it looks like this could be it :(..

But i bink a queen on the turn, the rivers a blank and i have him just covered and now upto 60k, and all of a sudden im one of the big stacks. We then play out the final 6 hands and i end the day with 60,350! After the way this week has gone i don't think many would begrudge me a little luck in that spot. Play resumes tommorow at 2pm and i will update later tommorow if i get through or get a sick min cash and probably in a few months if i bust lol.

Such a live donk : ( + rant

Sighhhhh
This trip on the whole has been pretty disgusting poker-wise. So frustrating and its really easy to be down about things at the moment. Played the 500 double chance on saturday and the 300 1r on tuesday, didn't make day two in either :(. Made a stupid live mistake which i was pretty mad at myself for, i misread a guys stack size and made a stupid bet where i was priced into calling his shove drawing dead which sucked. I then jammed 10bb with 85 of hearts and got slowrolled + speech from some old guy, i guess im gonna have to get used to that lol. I had a straight flush draw by the turn but didnt hit the miracle.

On to the 300 1r, with 11k at 100/200 i made it 500 in the cutoff with 86 of hearts the button flats, both blinds fold and the comes 952 one heart i bet 750, he flats turn comes the 9 of hearts giving me a f/draw, i barrel 1475 and he instajams vhbgalfnkm. I then chip up a little without showdown then get allin with J10 on a Q98 board vs QQ, it holds and im up to around 22k. I then get into an annoying spot where i 3bet AK, get flatted, c/bet the missed flop, check/fold the turn probably my biggest pet hate situation online. Anyway then i just grind my stack for a while and get to 600/1200/100 with around 20k, i make it 2900 with A10 and snap the shove from the young guy with around 13k he has AQ and ships it. I then shove a few times and im back to 14k, and pick up AQ and the button shoves and i snap and he flips K6ss, xxxxK... gg. I played a little live cash on wednesday, sat down at 1/2 with £450, very first hand i get it allin vs the only other big stack on A1088 with TT vs AA such coolers... fuck live poker imo.

Iv been writing this as i played online tonight, and just got KOd out of the big 100r on ftp in 10th for 3.3k...1st got 40k, yet another near miss jbnvskdsj;bnmv, nbm nnm, it will come one day! Pretty gross tbh, in this tourny i had AA vs KK allin pre K on flop, AA vs A3ss, allin pre he made a flush, thinking about it i don't know how the fuck i got 10th lol. Anyway i did have 400k with 15 left and was like 2/15, i then lost a standard race, then spewed a little making a light 4bet against another big stack who i thought had to have a huge hand to continue, lol he insta5betallin. I still have 220k with 11 left, then i lose a 350k pot with AQ vs gbecks A8 allin pre and he gets there, then with 11bb i lost a race AK vs 77. So sick :(.

Im trying not to let it get to me too much as its obviously part and parcel of the game. Iv pretty much dedicated my entire life to poker these last few years and it can be the most frustraing bs thing in the world sometimes. Being a poker player is a hell of a lot tougher than it seems. I can see why so many people don't make it, so easy to quit when it gets tough.

Playing the main event tommorrow and will be going straight home if i bust, have had enough tbh this week has been a lot of fun but i just wanna go home now, missing my gf like mad and this is the longest wev spent apart! So ill be pretty glad to get back to familiar surroundings.

Anyway w/e wish me luck in the ME tmoro, it starts at 2pm and its 8am now so im not gonna get much sleep at all so i may need a lot of luck!

Will i ever get a live mincash bfihnevuoidkm

Sigh things still aren't quite clicking live, got off to a great start too, from the 7k starting stack i got upto 42k with 0 showdowns which is actually pretty crazy. I then lost a standard race just before the break but it was only a small dent and i was feeling really good about this event and i was playing really well, maybe this would be my breakthrough... I was playing a lot of pots and getting flatted and seeing a lot of flops which worked out pretty perfect, i think i only got 3 bet once the whole night. I then spewed off some of my stack and then double barrelled the turn and river with air in a bvb hand after making it 3x from the sb with Q10ss, on J628K and got my soul owned getting snapped by Q6off :(.. K seemed a perfect card to barrel too. Im still undecided whether he was just a station or it was a sick read.. pretty ugly call pre either way.

So i was down to 15k at 600/1200 and jammed K10s in the cutoff and the Q6 guy instacalls with AK and it holds and im left with another live dissapointment and thinking what could have been.

One day i will get a live min-cash!!

Playing the £500 double chance tmoro, got nothing on today so gonna head down to the gym later and then think of somethin fun to do tonight.

Ill leave you with another random hot asian chick..

London GUKPT

Been in London for a few days and played both the LPC side events, the cardroom was really good and well run, the turnout could have been better on both days though. Iv been completely crushed by live donks again though haha. Managed to get a few chips together in the 200 event was running over the table but got pretty unlucky in the end, had shortstacks allin 5 times K4 vs JJ Q9 vs JJ K10 vs QJ 66 vs QQ and AJ vs QQ lol i only got it in good once but im a big favourite to win one or two and i would have been fine if i did. So im left with 9bb and then ran K9 into KK blrghh. Did end up going out in London for St Patricks Day later that night which was funny as hell, sick night out. Got pretty messy and i was feeling pretty bad the next day.

Did manage to make the 300 LPC event and it was extremely uneventful, i played just one hand in the first few levels and came back after the break with around 6.5kish at 100/200, i picked up AJ in the bb and made it 1200 after 5 limps, and got two calls, flop came 884 i led out 1700, got one caller and then it got checked down and he shows up with 64ss sigh. So im down to 4kish and the same player raises and i jam 99 and he snaps with A10off, first cards a 10 and thats that.

The first GUKPT side event starts tonight and im really looking forward to it, should be a really good event which looks like it will be a sellout too. Hopefully i can come back with a successful live tournament report for once lol. So far iv played 7 decent live events and im 0/7 in cashes which sucksssssss. Iv made day 2 in 3 of the 7 though so hopefully i can get a good result soon... maybe even a sick mincash lol.

Update with a ton of near misses! ps i suck at keeping up to date with this.

I know, I know i really do need to make more regular posts, I'm sure once i get into the swing of it, it will be fine : ). Soooooo February and early March were bitterly disappointing but it has been a good month or so none the less.

Notable Results from Feb and early March.
Stars $109 freezeout 2nd $1,440
Stars $20r 6th $1,170
Stars $109 7th $1,820
Stars $50r 3rd $7,823
Stars $30r 2nd $2,026
FTP Bracelet Race 1st $2,000

Only recently started putting volume on stars and its been going really good so far.

Now on to the brutal ones....
Stars $100r 300k gtd 16th $2,533
Stars Weds 250k gtd 19th $1,260
Stars Sunday 2nd Chance 34th $788
Stars Sunday 50r 11th $841
And within the last 3 days on FTP...
$75 40k gtd 16th $243
$163 65k gtd 14th $585
FTP 750K gtd 17th $3,966

So on the surface a v good month and a bit but i can't help but be incredibly disappointed about what could have been sigggh : (. I'm not gonna go on about bad beats etc because its just a bore but there has been some gross ones amongst those results above. Nevermind even though that huge score seems really hard to get atm, im sure it will come one day. Been putting in loads of volume and just bought a new 20" monitor and wireless mouse and it does make a hell of a difference especially when playing a ton of tables.

On to GUKPT Walsall, played the £300 side event, played really well on the first day and managed to make day 2 with around average chips, and then lost a pretty standard race early on where i reshoved with KQss and got called by JJ after a long speech by an old guy who went on to slam the table when the river had been dealt, sick etiquette gnjmkbfom. Kinda pissed me off, oh well. Also played the Main Event a few days later which was pretty uneventful really, the usual terrible standard, had to fold QQ early on and i don't really remember much else except my KO hand lol. I ended up getting it allin to some idiot who didn't shut up and went on to give me a rub down after he knocked me out hegijnfm,bh. anyway i got it allin against the donk with KQ vs 53 on KJ53 three diamonds, i missed, gg.

Iv hardly put any headsup cash hours in, but when i did it went quite well around $2k+ hopefully will get some time to put some more in as theres some live tournaments i want to play in the next few weeks. Theres GUKPT London which im definatly going to and will be playing most of the events and theres one iv just heard about called the London Poker Circuit. i checked out the schedule and it looks pretty good so might end up going to that too.

Uggh ill try and have some hand discussion in the next post, and it will definately won't be as long as it was since the last one.

Anyway heres a random hot asian chick just for the hell of it : )

Break is over, now for voluuuuume!

Iv hardly played at all since Brighton, im certain its been a good decision though because iv been completely unmotivated and not in the right mindframe to play at all and the times i did, i was kind of on autopilot and not playing anyway near my best. So its been a week or so off, with a lot of takeaways, movies, ps3 and sleeeep! I woke up today in a really good mood, and iv been itching to play all day which is definatley a great sign so im going to be puttin in as much volume as i can over the next few weeks before GUKPT Walsall.

I also decided to give some money to charity today, i felt like doing something good with my money. So iv given £500 to the RSPCA and the NSPCC. Iv never given to charity before, and it feels good to know its gone to some great causes and i think ill do it again in the future for sure!

Ill be playing all tonight and alllll Sunday so ill have something to report after Sunday hopefully after some success!

One tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime :)

Crazy Week with Strippers, £15k in cash, hardly any sleep (oh and GUKPT Brighton report)

Finally drove back to Manchester last night after probably one of the most eventful and random weeks of my whole life. It does feel good to be home but i had a hell of a lot of fun and id do it all again in a second! Last post i mentioned Perrins had made day two of the £200 side event, obv he ships it for around £7k after getting a pretty good chop 5 handed, played really well, ean quite well but definatly deserves this after running wayyyyyyy below expection in 2008.

So this was a sick start to the week and we go to the cashier and get 7k in cash and a bottle of £200 champagne, the hotel is not far enough to get a taxi so we end up having to walk through Brighton with 7k in cash in our pockets...lol fun! Back at the hotel, me Sarah and Matt start celebrating and its a Tuesday night so theres not much going on, so after some champagne and shots we ask the taxi driver where we can go, he says theres the PussyCat Club 5mins away, lol so what the hell Sarah doesnt mind infact she likes the idea... happy days :) £3000 later (I KNOW WTFFFFFF) and a lot of champagne, sambuca and lapdances for all we crash back at the hotel to prepare for the Main Event the next day.

Ok so on to poker, me and Matt both play day 1A and the field is terrible besides some really good internet players about its mainly live donks, play started at 2pm and i don't really get involved in any big pots for the first few hours, but manage to chip up a little, isolating the bad limpers and some late raises, then i double up Ian Frasier with JJ vs AKss he flops a flush so im basically dead on the flop and down to 7k. The play continues to be shocking and i manage to get back up to 13k with no showdowns over the next few levels. Its now about 11pm and theres 2 levels left till play stops and i stilll have around 11k its sucks to say this but i literally did go card dead and moved to a not much but slightly tougher table. Blinds now 400/800/50 and i pick up AJss in the hijack with 9k and get it in and run into AK and it holds, sigh.

I go see how Matts doin and obv hes crushing again with top 5 in chips lol and he cruises into day2. We end up staying out all night partying and get about 2 hours sleep. He goes on to make the Final Table after playing really well again in Day2 i don't know how either, i was completely fucked that day and he must have been too. We had to change hotels during this too because we had to stay an extra day and it was fully booked. All of us were tired and pissed off so it was not fun trying to sort another hotel at 10am when its windy as fuck and the Final Table was later that day.

Me and Sarah go to watch and i have 30% again so obv im very interested lol with 1st 70k plus change. Matt goes into the Final Table 5/9 and gets a really shit seat with the big stacks to his left and the short/medium ones to his right. I get interviewed by nutz.tv too during the final table which was pretty cool, i thought it went quite well even though i was little nervous. Anyway he doesnt play a hand for the first level and has blinded down to 170k at 6k/12k/1k. Then is his KO hand which we have gone though a lot and here is the hand and my thoughts on it...

Matt ~ 170k

Villain ~ 600k

Blinds ~ 6k/12k/1k

8 handed with average chips of around 260k

folds around to Matt with 66 on the cutoff, he makes it 30k to go, villain chipleader at the time 3bets to 60k..

villain has been fairly loose and not that great, later goes on to showdown k3off and k4off defending his bb

Matt has quite an aggressive image

So my thoughts are that open shoving is probably the best line with 14bb in this spot, as played i don't think he can fold, calling obv not an option but i really hate raise folding here with 14bb. villain is the chipleader and could easily be 3betting a wide range, also with the prizepool being quite top heavy i get it in playing for the win. But i do still think its a really close spot with it being live and the players so much tighter than online, hand values do go way down when playing live imo. For example, you raise the button with AJss and an 16bb stack reshoves, online its a snapppppppp your arm off call, but against some players live its an instafold.

So back to the hand Matt does get it in and runs into KK vnfjhvnmgkv, still a good win of £7k again but i can see why hes really dissapointed as i would be too. I suppose anything but 1st is always going to be dissapointing.

This post has just turned into an essay so im gonna go to the gym i think. All in all it has been an awesome week, we did end up well up but spent a stupid amount on shopping and nice restaurants and obv strippers lol... will be playing online a bunch in the next few weeks and ill do some more updates when i can.

GUKPT Event #1 AK is the nuts!

Me and Perrins played the £200 freezeout last night i ended up busting in around 34th of 140, i ran 73ss into AK, Q3ss into AK and 68off into AK and none of them held wtf lol i did have genuine reasons for getting it all in each time. I was playing super aggressive once a strong player to my direct left busted as the prizepool was pretty top heavy i know if i got some chips together it would have been an awesome opportunity to do well. The field in general was insanely weak with the odd pro and internet player here and there, luckily Matt made it to day 2 with around 25 players left and about average chips, so hes got a decent chance and i have 30% of his action lol so glglglgl!!

Day 2 starts in around 2 hours and then theres a £300 double chance tonight at 8pm, undecided whether to play it or not, might end up partying with Sarah and Matt instead if he gets like top 4 we will be for sure. Omaha £100 rebuy tommorow night... screw that, will have a look around Brighton instead might get a tattoo for the hell of it :) then Main Event on Thursday with some online inbetween probably.

Brightons a pretty nice place, seems to be quite a bit of money about, hopefully we will get to see some more before we go back, gonna go get breakfast now from this really nice place round the corner shipppp.

2009 + Big Wins + Longggg Update.

Ok so i haven't made a new post in what seems like forever, and there is a hell of a lot to update/talk about. My last post was when i won the 15k (now the 20k) twice in three days, in the following months i played heads up cash full and literally played hardly any mtt volume at all, it was a nice change tbh, and i believe it has greatly imroved my reading of the game. So during this time there wasnt a hell of a lot to blog about but i did do nicely profit wise winning around $20-25k, but it is a hell of a grind. So october/november time i decided to go for it with mtt again, whilst playing heads up on the side to boost the br. November turned out to be the worst month of online poker of my whole life, mtt that is, as cash went really well.. again.

Me and Matt "pez102" Perrins put in an insane amount of volume and it was a heart-breaking, soul crushing month, so many brutal KOs and near misses, it's the closest iv ever come to quitting. There were times where it felt like i couldnt take it anymore but i was saying to all my close friends etc that im playing the best poker of my life and that i really was just running crazily bad. I was very happy to see the back of November and im very glad i played cash on the side as it softened the blows somewhat. Negative Variance sucks!

However there was some positive things to come from that month, me and pez102 decided to play some major live tournaments, in the form of GUKPT Blackpool. We played the £300 side event and the £1,000 Main Event both had famous faces and live "pros". The standard in both events was absolutely shocking, managed to make day 2 in both events and got really unlucky in both, losing 3 big races and AK vs AQ aipf sighhh

Anyway onto Decemeber/January and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. So after being beaten down and completely detroyed in Nov, i somehow decided to come back and carry on grinding mtt along with headsup cash still. Again me and pez102 put in a lot of volume and finally all the hard work started paying off, the final tables started to roll in; 3rd in the 40k - $5,147, 4th in the 18k - $2,642, 5th in the 30k, $2,387 (losing AKss vs 98ss allin preflop for like 60% of the chips), 6th in the 40k - $2,016, and FINALLY my first FIVE FIGURE SCORE, shipped the turbo 40k for $11,613 woooooooooooooooop

ANDDDDDDDD it actually gets better after my biggest win ever in the 40k on boxing day on i managed an even bigger score.....

Now that feels GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!
So satisfying as i know iv been playing my best ever poker in the last few months and it hurt a lot to not get any reward for it. I don't remember much about the turbo 40k as it all happend so fast i just remember the guy heads up folding like 15 hands in a row and basically handing me the 11k. As for the 65k i actually ran insane on the last few tables, sooooooo deserved though after a brutal few months. The final table was probably my best ever final table display, especially 3 handed where i turned it round from short stack to shipping it.

Could not sleep allll that day and i remember being on a high for like 4 days lol it was immense.

Very exciting times at the moment and it inspired me to update this blog :)

Also GUKPT Brighton starts on the 12th and me and pez102 will be playing everything and ill keep updating here on how we're doing.
