2009 + Big Wins + Longggg Update.

Ok so i haven't made a new post in what seems like forever, and there is a hell of a lot to update/talk about. My last post was when i won the 15k (now the 20k) twice in three days, in the following months i played heads up cash full and literally played hardly any mtt volume at all, it was a nice change tbh, and i believe it has greatly imroved my reading of the game. So during this time there wasnt a hell of a lot to blog about but i did do nicely profit wise winning around $20-25k, but it is a hell of a grind. So october/november time i decided to go for it with mtt again, whilst playing heads up on the side to boost the br. November turned out to be the worst month of online poker of my whole life, mtt that is, as cash went really well.. again.

Me and Matt "pez102" Perrins put in an insane amount of volume and it was a heart-breaking, soul crushing month, so many brutal KOs and near misses, it's the closest iv ever come to quitting. There were times where it felt like i couldnt take it anymore but i was saying to all my close friends etc that im playing the best poker of my life and that i really was just running crazily bad. I was very happy to see the back of November and im very glad i played cash on the side as it softened the blows somewhat. Negative Variance sucks!

However there was some positive things to come from that month, me and pez102 decided to play some major live tournaments, in the form of GUKPT Blackpool. We played the £300 side event and the £1,000 Main Event both had famous faces and live "pros". The standard in both events was absolutely shocking, managed to make day 2 in both events and got really unlucky in both, losing 3 big races and AK vs AQ aipf sighhh

Anyway onto Decemeber/January and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. So after being beaten down and completely detroyed in Nov, i somehow decided to come back and carry on grinding mtt along with headsup cash still. Again me and pez102 put in a lot of volume and finally all the hard work started paying off, the final tables started to roll in; 3rd in the 40k - $5,147, 4th in the 18k - $2,642, 5th in the 30k, $2,387 (losing AKss vs 98ss allin preflop for like 60% of the chips), 6th in the 40k - $2,016, and FINALLY my first FIVE FIGURE SCORE, shipped the turbo 40k for $11,613 woooooooooooooooop

ANDDDDDDDD it actually gets better after my biggest win ever in the 40k on boxing day on i managed an even bigger score.....

Now that feels GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!
So satisfying as i know iv been playing my best ever poker in the last few months and it hurt a lot to not get any reward for it. I don't remember much about the turbo 40k as it all happend so fast i just remember the guy heads up folding like 15 hands in a row and basically handing me the 11k. As for the 65k i actually ran insane on the last few tables, sooooooo deserved though after a brutal few months. The final table was probably my best ever final table display, especially 3 handed where i turned it round from short stack to shipping it.

Could not sleep allll that day and i remember being on a high for like 4 days lol it was immense.

Very exciting times at the moment and it inspired me to update this blog :)

Also GUKPT Brighton starts on the 12th and me and pez102 will be playing everything and ill keep updating here on how we're doing.
